Adopting a pet is a big decision! We are here to help you through the whole process to make sure both your family and our furry friends have the best possible experience. Adopting a pet from Etowah Valley Humane Society is a step-by-step process:

Step 1 –

Look at Our Pets

Thinking about adopting? Check our our Adoptable Pets page to view photos and more information about all of the pets currently at Etowah Valley Humane Society. We have new animals come in all of the time, so make sure to check back often!

Step 2 –

Fill out an Application

Are you ready to meet a furry friend? To provide the best experience for you and our adoptable animals, adoptions are by appointment only with an approved application. You can easily fill out an application at the link below for a dog or a cat.

Step 3 –

Schedule a Visit

After you have submitted an application our staff will review your application within 24 hours. You will receive an email with the status of your application and a scheduling link so that you may choose a date and time that is best for you.

Step 4 –

Visit & Adopt!

Today is the Day! During your scheduled visit our staff will have your chosen pet(s) ready for visitation. You can also visit with other pets while you are here. If you don’t find your perfect match on your initial visit, feel free to schedule additional visits.

Possibly. This is contingent upon space and testing of the animal. This requires a non-refundable fee of $125 in cash, or credit card.

There are many rescues in the area; you can search online for general animal rescue groups or for specific breeds.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of how most animals end up at Animal Control, we may not have the animal’s history.

We will provide you with any information that we have about your new pet upon adoption – including all veterinary services they received during our care.
