Oliver
Oliver is doing so well. He is learning so much. He and Chloe are the best of friends. I have 2 neighbors with puppies about the same age as Oliver and they play together all the time. Both of those puppies will be in the same Obedience class as us.
Oliver is such a sweet boy. It is so cute to see that when he is unsure of something, all we have to do is show him that Chloe does it and then he will do it. I wanted to trim up his nails, and he got scared. I got Chloe and did hers and then he let me do his no problem. We are so enjoying Oliver. He was definately meant to be in our family. He fits in so perfectly!
Dakota

We just wanted to say "Thank you" for helping us find Dakota.
Bella
Thanks for giving us that
oppurtunity to adopt such a loving little girl! We finally decided to name
her Bella! She has been the best doggy ever! No, accidents in the house, no
signs of aggression, she doesnt even beg for table food or try to get on the
furniture! It blows our minds how someone could "dump" her, it is obvious
she did have owners at one point in her life and for her to be so sweet and
good its very saddening to know someone decided they didn't want her
anymore! But, Lucky us! We are so happy we decided to come visit the
Bartow Human Society that saturday, so that we could find our forever friend
in Bella!
Ringo and Sandy
Thank you all so much for the wonderful dogs. Ringo and Sandy have grown a lot since we picked them up in November. I am thinking that at least Ringo may have some Newfoundland in him by the size of his feet, his liking for water and his build. We are lucky to have several hundred acres of woodland behind our house for walking them.
L'il Bit
Just wanted to let you know that CC9 is adapting beautifully and doing very well as part of our new family. He and his new pal Buddy get along famously and are keeping each other well entertained. We've called him Lil'Bit and he's full of vim and vigor!

- Hennessy
- Hennessy (our adopted Pekingese aka Emily) is very much a member of our family and we love her very much. She is very happy, gives lots of kisses and right now will not stay out of the stickers. So we "de-sticker" her on a daily basis. What can I say other than she is lots of fun and brings lots of joy into our home. And more importantly SHE is happy.
- Belle
- Well, we are VERY VERY happy we have her, and we wanted you to know how she is thriving with us, and how happy she seems to be.
She was 77 pounds when we got her in 8/04, and how she is about 110. She was spayed in December. Her coat has grown out beautifully, all white, and once her diet stabilized, she stopped shedding. We have her enrolled in a good obedience school. She is loving, confident, pretty much well-behaved, taking to obedience training well (she already had some good training when we got her), and she loves adults, children, and other dogs, even very small ones. She is quiet and responsive and totally affectionate.
We thank you for her every day!
- Sounder
- I want to thank you for such a wonderful dog!! He is great. So sweet! I have named him Sounder. He makes such crazy sounds sometimes! He has fit right into the family. We went to the park on Sunday and he loved that! He did not care to much for getting in the truck but didn't mind riding. He is a big boy to have to help in the truck but that is what I had to do for a couple of times. He finally cought on and started doing it himself. He follows me every where! I wanted him for my kids but I think he might be mine!!!!!!! I have had a wonderful experince with you all. Thanks again!
- Stuart
- I just wanted to let you know how little Stuart is doing. We've had him for three weeks now and he has adapted beautifully to our household. He and Hercules are best buddies--they play ALL the time!
- Folly
- Folly is doing very well, and we love her to pieces.
- Cheeto
- I adopted a cat from your shelter about a year ago he was a 25 pound male cat named Cheeto. I just wanted to inform you that we have enjoyed him so much he is such an awesome cat.We just celebrated his third birthday and I just wanted you to know that this whole year we have had him has been the most absolute best thing in the world.Thank you so much for giving him to us.
- Val
- Megan--now renamed Val, is doing wonderfully. She gets long well with our boss chow mixes and is a very happy dog. Her only vice is shoes. She thinks they are chew toys, so we have to be careful to hide them from hungry Val.
