When we first moved to Georgia we went looking and this handsome boy caught our eye.He has turned out to be an incredible dog with a big heart. He is great with our other dog as well as our cats,he is a great addition to the family.
I wanted to thank you again for letting us welcome Cisco into our family. He is a happy guy that brings us plenty of laughs, and is a great companion to Luna. He also helps us keep the floor clean by eating anything that might fall on it, and with his serious bark makes me feel very safe at home.
The puppy Genger is doing great. We are all one big happy family...Thanks!!
Hes adjusted quite well and gets along wonderfully with our redtick coonhound, Hank. Hes actually helped Hank a lot with his anxiety and Hank is a much calmer dog now that he has a brother. Guss favorite thing is, of course, eating. He does what we call the happy dance when its meal time- he barks and jumps up in the air and twists and wiggles his whole body in excitement. Its the funniest thing weve ever seen!!. Gus is a very good boy and we love him very much. He has made a wonderful addition to our family and everyone he meets thinks hes just a doll. And whenever he bays (at cats, other dogs, geese, you name it) everyone around laughs and smiles.
I wanted to send a pic of Sounder the GSD that I adopted from you guys. He is such a joy and has already changed our lives. We are coming back this weekend to adopt a cat. We are so excited! We had such a good experence there and we just wanted to tell you all thanks for being so kind to us! Sounder has put on some weight and he is doing great. He did test HW positive but with a very low result. He will be treated and will be wonderful I am sure. There is nothing like having a pet to love & care for. He loves to play ball and would play 24-7 if he could! He is just like one of my boys!

I adopted Zelda, a now 1 1/2 yr old 51 pound mastiff mix, from your shelter December 2003. At the time, she was just 6 weeks old or so. I looked at a couple different shelters before finding the dog I wanted to adopt at yours. She had some health problems when I first got her, poor thing, but is now thankfully as healthy as a dog can be! Just wanted to send photos and give an update she is doing so well! The first photo was taken right after she was adopted with her big dog sister, Alice the black lab. The second is their trip where we drove recently to Clearwater, FL, where there is a dog beach. It was their first time seeing the ocean!
I have to say that Alice, my now five year old lab, immediately took to "her" new puppy. Alice seemed extremely happy to have such a sweet puppy to play with and keep her company. Zelda is now a VIP member of the Alpharetta dog park where she plays with Alice, many other dogs and people several times a week. Zelda has had several obedience classes. She now volunteers once a month through a pet therapy program, to cheer up the residents at the VA nursing home.
Who would ever imagine a Georgia girl would end up in Northeast Ohio? She is the love of our lives, and I feel very blessed to have her. Our 11 yr. old daughter even published a book on Border Collies and dedicated it to Chica. Thank you for saving her! She is the perfect dog for us.
She brought so much joy in to our family we love her very much especially our son Rishad. Before we adopted her she was in a foster home with a very nice lady who took great care of her, it was so easy potty train Missy because of Donnas great work. We thank you all for your hard work and care of the animals.
I adopted Pickles from you guys back in October, one day before she was scheduled to be put down. Since then she has not only become spoiled rotten, but has made her way onto the covers of office products industry catalogs. Here's her headshot!
Just wanted to let you know Feather aka Fat Kitty has settled in and made my home hers. She has the full run of the house and is content just lounging on the back of the couch looking out the window. I have enclosed a pic of her sleeping on top of my printer, her second favorite place to catch a nap.
I just wanted to tell you that my new Dog Barney is doing great. He is my best friend we hangout together from the time I get home until I go to work. He is the best dog I have ever had. I sent you his latest pictures. Tell me if it is just me or his he smiling?
You had told us the unfortunate story of how Josie was found, starving to (near) death, and terrified of everything, roaming the streets alone. Just the picture of her beautiful sweet looking face had us ready to open our home to a new family member. It was most defiantly the story of her tragic beginnings, which really touched our hearts. Then, when we called, we learned she was scheduled to be put down in 2 days. So we rushed to her rescue!
Well, all this is behind her now. Little "no name" is most fondly called Josephine, "Empress of the French Republic". My boyfriend had always wanted a boy Jack Russell to name "Napoleon", due to the breeds well known "Napoleon complex". Since Josie was a girl, we named her after Napoleon's greatest love... and ours, now.
She came to us skinny and shivering with fear, hiding from everything. I'm ecstatic to report that she now gets a very healthy diet, and plenty of yummy treats. She loves EVERYONE! She has really opened up, and is a completely different dog. We are so grateful to you'll for bring her into our life. I am home alone all day, boyfriend is at work, and she is my consent companion! Always by my side, literally! (We call her "the mommy magnet", because no matter how much you pull her away from me, she pops right back to my side!) Thanks again!
I thought I would send you an update on Que and Quay. They are now about 1 and 1/2 years old. They are both doing great and are just beautiful and happy girls. I would like to thank you again for allowing us to adopt these wonderful girls. They have been a great addition to our family and have given us so much joy and love. Both are very playful and loving and they think they are lap dogs!
They appear to be "joined at the hip". Sophie and Chelsey have wonderful dispositions and are extremely loving. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to adopt Sophie and Chelsey. No matter what they do, they bring joy to every day for me.
Katie is a highlight of every day. She gives great kisses if you are into that and spreads her love around between the young girls here 11 and 13, and the mom! We tried to change Katie's name since she was a stray and we knew it wouldn't hurt your feelings at the shelter, but somehow Katie stuck. She lives in Lawrenceville, but this family will travel to Cartersville someday to find her a friend when the golden goes home. Everyone in Etowah Valley was great. Special thanks go to Mark and the rest of Katie's foster family since they took such super care of our her!

She is so friendly and a great kid!
Thank you so much for letting us adopt Little Man (aka Joey). He is such a good little boy! He plays for about 15 minutes at a time and then conks out for about 3 hours. Meghan and I love him so much and hes already spoiled rotten.
Jake has made a wonderful addition to the our family. He spends most of his days playing with his little brother Jack. Jake is a very gentle and sweet natured dog. He is extremely smart and responds to verbal commands without hesitation. We love him a great deal and are so happy we found him thanks to you Etowah Humane.
(Sent by Allie's 4 year old human brother!) I love the dog. I like it when Allie sleeps with me. I love it when she jumps. Her head fur is also very soft. I like it when she licks me and when she sits for treats. The most thing I like is when I feed her and get her water. Thank you for giving us such a great dog.
