We lost our beloved dog Buddy in September of last year. Our other dog Cody was so lonely when his brother passed away. We came to Etowah to find Cody a companion. We were unsure about getting another dog so soon. Dorothy and Donna were very understanding and patient with us. Dorothy recommended Benny to us. We brought him home and Benny and Cody became fast friends. Benny and his big brother Cody are inseparable. They love each other so much. Benny is an absolute angel. He has brought so much joy into our lives. We love and adore him!! Thank you so much Dorothy and Donna for allowing Benny to become a part of our family. And thank you for everything you do. You are very special ladies.
Thank you so much,
Stephen, Marn, Cody & Benny

I wanted to share with you how much joy Chloe has brought to our lives. She is the most precious little girl in the world. She really has become more of my daughter's dog so I am sitting back being content telling everyone that I have a grandpuppy and she is the sweetest in the world! (when she's not chewing my shoes)
Dorothy, thank you so much for meeting with us and taking such good care of Chloe until we got there! Most important, thank you for working with different agencies that led me to you! A very heartfelt thank you to Annette at the Southern Hope Humane Society that shared our application and because of her dedication to the animals we were then led to Etowah Valley Humane. Our sincere thanks for EVERYTHING you do!
Much Love,
Michele & Jessie

Becoming a volunteer for Etowah Valley Humane Society has introduced me to so many beautiful, loving and smart cats and dogs that I truly hope find the forever families who will show them what family really means.
One mischievous cat in particular insisted on coming home with my husband and I. Who knows what havoc he would've caused in the Cat Room, had we not met his demands...
After a few weekends of getting to know him, Gremlin became my little 'helper'. My little elf, if you will. He'd follow me around the room quietly as I dished out the wet food for the cats in the Cat Room. He'd silently investigate in things, around things and on top of things (especially on top of things). After some careful consideration, we decided that Gremlin would be a fabulous brother for our two feline girls, Daisy and Delilah and we chose to bring him home. He has been a great fit and is still full of energy and mischief! He loves to chase his sisters and generally cause chaos but we love him and couldn't imagine our family without him.
We wish every day that we could bring each cat in the shelter home but how could we take all the fun!? Felines make fantastic family members and we wish and work every day to find the cats of Etowah Valley's Cat Room the loving homes they deserve.
Hannah and Grant Michalski.
She was pregnant when her owner's brought her in. They signed the consent to put her down and just left. The shelter had named her Clover. I went to look at her, and she was so cute, and sweet. When I brought her home she was extremely timid and hid under the bed for days. I could tell that she had been through quite a bit. Eventually she warmed up to me, and relaxed in her new environment. I recently got divorced, and had to start completely over. Sadie is the greatest thing I could have ever asked for. I named her Sadie. Now, when I come home from work she is right at the door waiting for me. She sits in the window and watches me leave for work. She is always by my side, and loves to play. Sadie will lick me on the forehead when it is time to get up. She is the sweetest cat that I have ever had. She always gives unconditional love despite what happened to her. She is a little weary of strangers, but warms up to people very fast. I am also going to adopt another cat for her to play with when I am not home. I couldn't be happier! She is exactly what I needed in the difficult stage my life was in.

Hi everyone,
I just want to thank Dorothy for taking the chance and allowing Mocha to come live with us in Michigan.
She was adopted 5/19/2008 from Etowa Valley GA and taken to Marne, MI. She has adjusted VERY well and is just the sweetest dog. She loves to romp about her new country estate with her two doggie friends Roxie (springer) and Cassie (the yellow lab) Both girls are teaching Mocha all kinds of new things. She chases birds and runs after squirrels and chipmunks. We are working on teaching Mocha to swim. She has been on a trip to Northern Michigan to see Lake Leelanau where we discovered that she did not know how to swim. But we'll find doggie swim classes for her.
After her first grooming she felt and acted so much better. Take a look at the before pictures (the rightmost 2) I really believe she loves her new home!! And we all just love her too. Mocha is truly a success story. It still amazes me we found such a fantastic dog in a shelter. She is now a part of the Marne Pack.
Enjoy the before and after pictures of this wonderful dog.
Thank you again,
Jane Bouwman
We named our little rat terrier Kelly that we got from you in February. She's up to 17 pounds. Kelly is on the left and Prissy (our first child) is on the right. They love to play together and Kelly is adjusting nicely to having a nice soft bed and a home of her own.
Thanks,
Pam
