Do you love animals, but just can’t adopt one at this time? Please feel free to come by and volunteer at our facility. You can download a volunteer application here and email it to us at: volunteer@etowahvalleyhumane.org, or send it through regular mail to:

Or you can come by to fill out a volunteer application. Orientation sessions are held at the Shelter on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month at 2:00 pm. There are many opportunities to share your love with the animals. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Pet socialization: they need lots of love!
  • Help with adoptions at Petco
  • Transporting pets on Petco adoption days
  • Cleaning and shelter maintenance (cat cages and dog runs)
  • Housekeeping, such as laundry, mopping, or washing dishes
  • Transporting pets to veterinary visits
  • Transporting pets to the airport or other rescue organizations
  • Administrative/office help
  • Contributing to our newsletter
  • Gathering donations and sponsors
  • Fundraising
  • Any special skills you have that you can bring to our organization (sewing, grooming, medical care, etc.)

Please come by and volunteer today! We will gladly accept your volunteer services whenever you are available.
